Connecting to Wi-Fi
In short: Wi-Fi is the wireless home network. You pick your network from the list, enter the Wi-Fi password and you are online.
In more detail: The router broadcasts a wireless network with a name (SSID). The password is usually on the router. Computer, phone and tablet connect to it without cables.
In Depth
- Windows: Network icon at the bottom right → choose network → Connect → enter password.
- Phone: Settings → Wi-Fi → choose network.
- Password: On the router sticker or in the router menu. Mind upper and lower case.
- No internet despite connection: Restart the router (unplug for 30 seconds), check cables.
- Weak signal: Move closer to the router or place it more openly.
- Public Wi-Fi: Cafés, stations. Do not do banking or enter passwords there.
- LAN cable: Faster and more stable than Wi-Fi if the computer is near the router.
