Video calls and messengers
In short: With messengers and video-call programs you write and speak over the internet. You need a camera, microphone, speakers and a stable connection.
In more detail: Services such as Signal, WhatsApp, Teams or Zoom use the internet instead of a phone line. For video conferences you usually get a link and join through it.
