Resource Abuse
In short: Resource abuse means that other people’s devices are used for computing power, storage or bandwidth without the owner’s knowledge.
In more detail: Examples: cryptojacking, botnets for DDoS or spam, proxy networks made of hacked routers, illegal content hosted on foreign servers.

High CPU load, loud fans, hot laptop, slow internet, unexplained high cloud bill.
Protection
Up-to-date software, strong passwords and access restrictions for servers and cloud accounts, monitoring and limits (for example budget alerts at cloud providers).
