Cryptojacking
In short: Cryptojacking is the secret mining of cryptocurrency on other people’s devices or servers.
In more detail: Either a mining program runs as malware on the computer, or a web page mines with JavaScript while it is open. The site operator or attacker collects, the owner pays for electricity and wear.

Known example
The service Coinhive enabled website mining and was shut down in March 2019 after being abused on a massive scale.
Particularly affected
Unprotected cloud servers and containers: attackers start their own mining processes there at the customer’s expense.
