Weather warnings and warning apps

In short: Weather warnings and warning apps inform in good time about dangers such as storms, floods or major fires. In Germany there are official channels of the German Weather Service (DWD) and civil protection.

• Cell broadcast: Warnings are sent directly to mobile phones without an app.
• Sirens: Warning signals; with a continuous tone switch on the radio and wait for information.
• Own preparation: Save your location, activate notifications.
• Pass on: Inform neighbours and older people (sturm-und-gewitter-verhalten, hochwasser-und-starkregen-vorsorge, notvorrat-und-krisenvorsorge).
