Thermostat and heating control
In short: A thermostat keeps the temperature constant by opening or throttling the heat flow depending on room temperature. Modern controls save energy because they steer times and rooms precisely.
In more detail: Control compares set value and actual value and adjusts the heating output.
In detail
- Radiator thermostat: An expansion element expands with heat and closes the valve.
- Levels: 3 corresponds to about 20 °C, each level about 4 degrees.
- Programmable thermostats: Lower the temperature at night and when absent.
- Smart thermostats: Controllable by app, open-window detection, geofencing.
- Hydraulic balancing: Distributes heating water evenly to all radiators (heizkosten-senken-und-richtig-heizen).
- Heating curve: The flow temperature of the heating depends on the outside temperature.
- Heat pumps: Work particularly efficiently with low flow temperature (waermepumpe).
- Practice: One degree less saves about 6 percent of heating energy (waerme-und-temperatur).
