Starting and quitting programs
In short: You start programs (apps) from the start menu, the search or an icon on the desktop. You quit them with the X in the window or via the File menu.
In more detail: A program is software you use to get something done, such as a browser, word processor or calculator. The start menu lists all installed programs. The fastest method is to type the name into the search and press Enter.
