Working Hours Act
In short: The Working Hours Act (ArbZG) governs maximum working time, breaks and rest periods for adults.
In more detail: Daily working time is in principle at most 8 hours, extendable to 10 hours if 8 hours are kept on average.
In Depth
- Breaks: 30 minutes after more than 6 hours, 45 minutes after more than 9 hours.
- Rest period: at least 11 hours between two working days.
- Sunday and public holiday work only in exceptions.
