Occupational Safety and Health Act

In short: The Occupational Safety and Health Act (ArbSchG) obliges employers to protect employees’ safety and health.

Duties

Instruction of employees, suitable work equipment, first aid, fire protection. For the screen workstation the Workplace Ordinance also applies (ergonomic workstation, lighting, breaks).

Rights

Employees may report defects and leave the workplace in case of imminent danger. See BBiG, JArbSchG.
