Batteries
In short: A battery is a non-rechargeable energy store (primary cell).
In more detail: In everyday language the word is also used for rechargeables. A real battery is disposed of after it is empty.

Types
Alkaline manganese (AA, AAA, 9 V), zinc-carbon, lithium coin cells (for example CR2032 for motherboards and keys). On the motherboard the coin cell keeps the time and BIOS settings (BIOS).
Disposal
Batteries must not go in household waste. Retailers and collection points must take them back (Battery Act). See rechargeable batteries.
