Angling: basics and rules

In short: Angling is a nature hobby in which fish are caught with rod, line and bait. In Germany you usually need a fishing licence and a permit for the water.

• Permit: For the specific water, for example from the club.
• Closed seasons and minimum sizes: Protect stocks, undersized fish are put back.

• Animal welfare: Stun and kill caught fish properly, take only fish you will use.
• Nature: Take rubbish with you, spare the banks (nachhaltig-einkaufen-und-konsumieren, camping-grundlagen).
• Safety: Mind hooks and casting area, life jacket near deep water.
