Smartphone photography: tips
In short: Modern smartphones take very good photos. With a clean lens, good light, deliberate composition and a little editing you get better pictures without extra equipment.
In more detail: Small sensors benefit greatly from software (HDR, night mode, portrait mode) that merges several shots.
In detail
- Clean the lens: Fingerprints often cause milky pictures.
- Use light: Window and evening light, not against the sun; flash only in emergencies.
- Focus and exposure: Tap the subject, move the brightness slider.
- Gridlines: Activate the rule-of-thirds grid (bildkomposition-goldener-schnitt).
- Do not digital zoom: Better to move closer or use the telephoto camera.
- Night mode: Hold the phone still or support it on a wall/shelf.
- RAW and pro mode: More control, larger files (fotografie-grundlagen-belichtungsdreieck-raw-und-jpeg).
- Storage and privacy: Remove location from photos before sharing.
