Learning guitar for beginners
In short: To get started an acoustic or classical guitar, a tuner and a few simple chords are enough. Short regular practice brings more than rarely practising long.
In more detail: Classical guitars have nylon strings (soft on the fingers), steel-string guitars have steel strings (brighter sound, harder for beginners).
In detail
- Tuning: The six strings from low to high: E A D G B E. A tuner or app helps.
- First chords: Em, Am, E, A, D, G, C. With these many songs can be accompanied (akkorde-grundlagen).
- Strumming: Plucking or strumming with pick or fingers, calm rhythm (rhythmus-und-takt).
- Fingertips: At first they hurt; calluses form after a few weeks.
- Practice: 15 to 20 minutes daily, slowly with a metronome.
- Tablature: Simplified notation showing which frets on which strings to play.
- Care: Change strings when they sound dull; protect the guitar from heat and humidity.
