Battery and charging the right way
In short: Lithium batteries dislike both heat and constant deep discharge. Charge between roughly 20 and 80 % if possible and use a suitable charger.
In more detail: Batteries age with charge cycles and heat. After some years capacity drops. A replacement is then often cheaper than a new device.
In Depth
- Charger: Original or certified (USB-C with suitable power).
- Avoid heat: Not in the sun or under a pillow while charging.
- Saving battery: Lower brightness, restrict location services and background apps, battery-saver mode.
- Do not store empty: For storage charge to about 50 %.
- If the battery swells: Stop using the device and have it disposed of properly.
- Laptop: Running permanently on the charger is uncritical, modern devices control charging.
