HTTP 202 Accepted

In short: The request was accepted but not fully processed yet.

In more detail: Processing runs asynchronously, for example in a queue. The code does not say whether it will succeed later. The server usually returns an address where the status can be queried.

• Long tasks such as video conversion, report generation or sending e-mail.
• Batch jobs running in the background.

What you can do

1. Query the status later (address in the body or the Location header).
2. Developers: provide a status endpoint and clear error messages for jobs that fail later.
