Patch Sockets
In short: A patch socket (network outlet) is the wall connection where the permanently installed network cable ends and a patch cable is plugged in.
In more detail: Behind the socket is a rigid installation cable that runs through the building to the patch panel in the cabinet. The socket usually holds a keystone module with an RJ45 jack.

Structure
The wires are terminated using LSA technology (colour scheme T568A or T568B). The module is snapped in and the socket labelled.
